Indigenous Women's Arts Conference
This women's gathering was October 2022
In taking inspiration from the Haudenosaunee Seventh Generation Principle, this conference will serve to preserve and revitalize endangered Indigenous art forms and enrich lives through Indigenous arts and cultures.
This gathering [re]connects and empowers Indigenous women by promoting the transfer and conservation of cultural knowledge; securing the capacity for the next seven generations to retain and cultivate intrinsic Indigenous world views.
This conference is open to people who identify as Indigenous women only.
Starting Fresh
2020 conference was cancelled and all those who registered are now de-registered. We're starting fresh together! There were several calls for refunds and emails sent to all registrants. Refunds were issued through 2020,2021 and early 2022. There are no more refunds being issued but you are very welcome to register for free if you did not get your 2020 refund. If you find yourself in financial hardship and have paid for something in 2020, please reach out - we leave no women behind. board@indigenousartscollective.org *orange shirt pin pictured made by Kelly Andrews
For Indigenous Women
This conference is open to Indigenous women only.
The funding and safe space is in place to support and uplift Indigenous women who struggle to [re]learn Indigenous ways of knowing that were taken from us. We are resilient and while we break free from cycles of trauma and grief we are choosing to gather in a way that uplifts, promotes community and feeds our joy. Some workshops are even for Inuit only - so look carefully or you may be de-registered. Please reach out with questions to kikki@indigenousartscollective.org *Birch Bark Bitings pictured by Pat Bruderer, Halfmoon Woman.
