My work focuses on pyrography (wood-burning) as both an artistic practice and a storytelling medium rooted in Mi’kmaw culture, land connection, and lived experience.
Through workshops, demonstrations, and facilitated creative sessions, I share the process of working with fire to create meaningful, one-of-a-kind art on wood, leather, and wearable pieces. My workshops explore the fundamentals of pyrography, including tools, safety, technique, and design development, while also emphasizing intention, patience, and respect for materials.
Participants are guided through hands-on learning that encourages creativity, personal expression, and an appreciation for slow, handcrafted work. In addition to technical instruction, I incorporate storytelling elements that reflect Indigenous perspectives on art, symbolism, and relationship to land.
These sessions are designed to be accessible, grounding, and educational, offering participants insight into both the artistic process and the cultural context that informs my work.
My goal as a facilitator and artist is to create welcoming, respectful learning environments where people can connect with creativity, tradition, and the power of making something by hand.
