Claire Sackanay is James Bay Cree who is a Mother of 3 girls grandmother of 11, and Great Grandmother of 2. Traditional Jingle Dress Dancer, who loves to sew. When she was younger she was fascinated watching her late Mother sewing Felt liner Parka's for customers, drawing her appliques of seals, walrus, igloos, etc. that were sewn onto the felt and outer liner, she has learned sewing techniques by watching her everytime she was at her sewing machine and was able to help in anyway. She began sewing full time when she made her first regalia in 2007 and has learned techniques of her own and expanded her sewing visions. She enjoys walking Volunteering and participates in programs and events in her community. Enjoying life , meeting people, laughing.
