Cowichan Tribes

My name is Clairissa. I come from the Cowichan Tribes. My mom starting teaching me to bead when I was about 5 years old. I started off with simple techniques and eventually mastered Daisy Chains. Over the last 28+ years I have been self teaching myself new stitches and patterns and have even expanded into wire wrapping semi-precious stones.

Clairissa Ann Marie Charlie, Jewelry, dreamcatchers, cedar bark work, beadwork, Indigenous Artist, First Nations, Indigenous Arts Collective of Canada, Pass The Feather

I believe in the power of healing stones. I have also learned to make cedar Rose's and have been incorporating cedarbark roses into my jewellery. I was taught to only work when I have "Uy Shquwaluwun" which translates to "Good thoughts and feelings".
