I am an Indigenous woman of the St. Regis Indians of Akwesasne. I design t-shirts, do some bead work, make some jewelry, but my specialty is selling authentic indigenous crafts. Now how I started was during COVID we had a lot of our people were making crafts but couldn’t get out to sell. My Mom and I were invited to attend a Vendor Market in Washington DC and was told to make sure we had enough crafts to sell for 4 full days, so we we contacted our people told them what we were doing and we started promoting their little business and sold their crafts for them. We called this Networking, some of our people are elderly and can’t get out to sell so we do it for them.
