My name is Megan Merkley and my community is Timiskaming First Nation. My skills were learned by other Indigenous beaders on Treaty 9 territory where I currently reside.

Through workshops and teachings, I was able to pick up the skill so that I can make beautiful pieces. Beading brings calmness to my life. It’s my escape from day-to-day stressors. It’s peaceful, soothing and reminds me that my ancestors are always with me.
