Kanien’kehá:ka, Akwesasne Mohawk Nation

Kahsennaientá:kie Roundpoint is a Mohawk born and raised in Akwesasne and on the powwow trail. From a young age has always been fascinated with crafting, culture and traditional designs, and artwork.

Working in the family business all her life, having a creative expression, and being able to recreate and design allows her creativity to flow into her work. She started out by making her own head to toe ceremonial clothing and regalia. With an eye for creativity and vision, and a quick sense to learn, she has been fortunate in her community to be able to learn and gain inspiration from knowledge keepers and create her own artwork. Which includes the following: sewing of ribbon shirts, skirts & aprons; beading of yolks, earrings and raised beadwork; pottery; pipe making; horn and turtle rattle; leather/fur, felt gloves; various moccasin styles; fancy, utility & pack baskets; woven belts; leather pouches; fringe and appliqué shawls. Kahsennaientá:kie is a part of the Rise Up Singers and Dancers group, and has performed traditional dancing at many venues. Also, her art work on a paddle board for the Ohneka Healing project, to be displayed at various locations. Further has been facilitating workshops and events in hopes to inspire the youth.

Currently attending college, NOT presently taking orders or facilitating workshops. However will have the occasional items up for sale.
