Cree, Onion Lake Cree Nation

Wâpiski Kihéw Esquao (White Eagle Woman) also known as Delreé Dumont, is an internationally recognized Cree artist from Chilliwack, BC.  She is a proud member of Onion Lake Cree Nation.  Prior to working full time as an artist, she was employed full time in the oil and gas industry for 32 years.  During that time, she promoted the beauty of her culture and traditions within the corporate environment.  Today, much of her artistic work draws on her experiences as an Indigenous person. She loves to cree-ate smudge fans, dreamcatchers and medicine bags.   She currently lives in the Kootenay region of BC and paints in her studio full time.
