My name is Alexis Hekker, I am a Métis artist living and creating on the traditional territory of the Ktunaxa Nation. I was introduced to beading techniques through my community and fell in love with the art. I am bisexual and incorporate pride flags into many of my pieces in order to provide representation for LGBTQQIA+ Indigenous peoples. I am constantly creating and making new designs! Beading is my self-care and a great way for me to connect with my culture and community.
