Chanelle Wasoqolamunabit Barnaby
Eel Ground First Nation
My name is Chanelle Barnaby, Wasoqolamunabit (sees with crystal eyes), I'm a Mi'kmaw artist from Eel Ground First Nation. Currently, I reside in Algonquin territory. I'm a beadwork artist as well as make real fur pompom hats. My work is very healing to me and I always work while having a good mind and heart as I believe those intentions will be passed to my customers.
In my beadwork, I use our 4 sacred medicines and healing crystals as well as all real gold and silver beads. All my beadwork has the medicines behind as well making them like a medicine pouch. My hats are made with fur collected by native trappers across Turtle Island and the poms are interchangeable, making different styles and colours easy!
