I am a self-taught Ojibwe or Anishinaabe artist currently based in Edmonton, Alberta. I was born in Thompson, Manitoba, and my parents are from North Bay and Manitoulin Island.
As a child I enjoyed learning about the animals and how they live through school, media such as television programs, and of course, my parents, who took us children on family outings to fish, cut wood, camp, and explore the wilderness. I have been painting artwork for almost 20 years and enjoy the spiritual connections it portrays between animals, people, and the world around us. I have also used my artwork to learn about Indigenous culture from across Canada, which is often reflected in my artwork - I am inspired by Inuit and West Coast stories.
