Jill learned the beading basics from Indigenous women she worked with in the government back in the early 90s, attending beading circles, participating in workshops and a lot of practice over the years. Her moccasins are made in the James Bay Cree style and she uses flowers to bring beauty into the pieces. She is a mother to two adult children, Michelle and Jason. Jill, her kids and their partners often hold "craft days" or "beading afternoons" where they work on individual projects or come together to learn new cultural skills followed by a feast.
