I am a self taught Mohawk beader from Tyendinaga Territory. I started out making dream catchers and beading jean jackets, however I stopped for 30 years.
I learned most of my craft from talking to people from Toronto where I grew up, and I was fortunate to find a few people from my Territory who gave me advice. I have now moved back closer to my Territory.
Being on my Territory and speaking to locals, like the leather store owner, has been giving me more ideas of new things to create. Recently I was at a workshop and learned how to make moccasins. I am always researching and learning new things to make. I have been looking into making Gauntlets and I hope to create more items soon.
