I am a contemporary artist whose body of work combines vivid colour, geometric structure, and symbolic imagery drawn from nature, portraiture, and surreal narratives. Across my work, I repeatedly stage figures, plants, animals, insects, and cosmic forms within compositions that balance abstraction with recognizable subject matter. The result is art that reads as both decorative and symbolic, with a strong emphasis on visual rhythm, layered patterns, and emotional atmosphere.
My style is marked by bold chromatic contrasts, flattened space, and stylized drawing that often gives equal weight to line, shape, and colour. Many of my works use strong outlines and segmented areas of colour, creating an image structure that feels graphic while still retaining painterly variation. In several pieces, I combine organic forms with geometric frameworks, producing compositions that hover between illustration, painting, and symbolism, merging folkloric, dreamlike, and graphic elements.
Recurrent motifs include women and other figures, flowers, bees, birds, fruit, fences, spirals, spheres, and orbital forms. Dense visual layering, patterned surfaces, repeated motifs, and compositional overlays create a crowded but controlled visual field.
My self-portraits are often used as an expressive way of processing generational traumas. I use simplification rather than naturalistic modelling, while landscapes and abstractions frequently become sites for hovering planets, spirals, insects, or floral bursts. These elements carry strong symbolism, representing the turmoil and joys of my existence between worlds.
As a result, my work consistently returns to several interconnected themes:
Nature and Transformation: Flowers, bees, birds, fruit, forests, and garden imagery recur as active symbols, both personal and cultural. These elements are used with deep meaning rather than simply as background decoration.
Identity and Introspection: My portraits often portray my watchful spirit, enclosed or reflective, with my face framed by bars, borderlines, basket patterns, detailed patterned braids and hair, or surroundings filled with intricate patterns and falling objects.
Cosmic and Dream Imagery: Orbital spheres, floating forms, and surreal landscapes introduce a sense of otherworldly scale. They symbolically pull the separate layers of life together, much like my strong pattern recognition and the ways I work through life's difficulties.
Cultural Memory and Symbolism: The repeated presence of ceremonial, folkloric, and patterned imagery reflects an interest in inherited visual languages and personal mythology. My work is a celebration of the strangeness of what it is "to be."
Containment and Passage: Several works place figures behind fences or bars, or within structured environments, creating a tension between enclosure and expression.
I make space for the outliers in my art. For those who need to revolt against the rules, challenge the agreed-upon cage, and remember to ask questions. Through my work, I hope to remind people to hold on to their curiosity and wonder for it all.
