My name is Naomi White (nee Hughes), I am a member of Tsimshian Nation Laxkwalaams (North Western British Columbia). I am Gispudwada (killerwhale) of the Gitxagangiik Tribe. I learned weaving from my Grandmother, Verna. As a young child, I was taught how to gather + prepare the bark, and the basics of weaving. I make cedar roses, single stems and arrangements as well as woven cedar vases, headbands, graduation caps, purses and cedar hats.
