Alex Antle is a self-taught Mi’kmaw beadwork artist originally from Central Newfoundland. She began beading in 2017 to build a connection to the Mi’kmaq culture. Beading started out as a hobby but quickly turned into a small business, known as Bunchberry Beadwork, as Alex began Instagram-ing her creations and selling locally and online.

Early in her artistic journey, Alex focused exclusively on jewellery and wearable art. Alex has expanded her practice and now creates larger framed pieces which have been featured in exhibitions across Newfoundland and Labrador.

Alex currently resides in Corner Brook where she is constantly surrounded by nature. Many of her designs and colour combinations have been inspired by the earth and ocean. Alex uses a combination of traditional beading techniques and modern original designs to create truly unique, contemporary pieces.
