My name is Aprilraine and I am from Mi’kma’ki. My father, Beaver, taught me how to create art from things we find in nature, he was always making dreamcatchers out of willow branches, and he taught me how to leather-wrap feathers at a young age. His sister, my Aunt Ardy Born-with-three-thumbs passed down her moccasin pattern to my mother and taught her how to sew and bead, which was passed down to me and my sisters, and I hope to pass down to my own children.
