My name is Dina Filippelli, and I am Mohawk artist from Kanesatake.

From a very young age my mother taught me how to sew and make various crafts. I used to walk around at the powwows and craft sales and see all the beautiful art that people were making, and I decided I wanted to learn how to make them too.

So, I bought some books and tried different projects and taught myself how to make it my own or special. Later in life I used the internet for learning new techniques on making earrings and beaded keychains.

Now I own my own Native arts and crafts store called Wolf Crafts in Kanesatake. Here I sell beads, beading supplies, ready made crafts, and offer various beading workshops.

I grew up in Montreal but have been back living on my reserve for over 30 years. It feels great to be able to teach my culture and traditions and offer my services to the community.
