Joy is a member of Six Nations of the Grand River, Seneca.
On her maternal side, she has Haudenosaunee (Six Nations) and Chippewa (Beausoleil FN) ancestry. She began beading in early 2021 and has learned most of what she knows from her mom who was a beader when she was growing up.
Joy’s pieces are largely inspired by Mother Earth and all our relations.
