My name is Leanne Elson, I'm an Inuit artist currently residing in Maugerville, NB. I’ve learned moccasin sewing from a young age from my aunt, Eva Luther, who learned from her Mother/my Grandmother. Through the years, I learned different techniques and started to incorporate furs and other animal parts from animals we hunt into jewelry.
Nothing goes to waste. Living off the coast of Labrador may be challenging but it offers so many resources, history and culture that I am proud to hold it close and pass it on to my children someday.
