Hello, I am Diane, an Anishinaabemowin from Batchewana Bay, living in Gatineau.

My mom worked with her hands and was creative, and now I follow in her footsteps. I am mostly self taught, however I had help along the way from my mom, a few cousins, and a few friends.

I attended a workshop on tufting and birch work from a fellow artist from Superior Huron Treaty. I pass along my knowledge in women’s circles that I host, and I also teach my son, daughter in law and nephew.

The knowledge is embedded in our DNA. Art is therapy.
