As her children grew and moved away from home, Laura's passion for her Metis heritage lead her to designing and creating traditional ribbon shirts and Indigenous-inspired clothing and accessories. Laura is featured at the Royal Alberta Museum in the Human History Hall, Metis display. She has contributed her art to the British Museum in London as well as the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, Americas in Washington DC.
