Robert Spade

Ojibwe from Obukamikang, Quebec

Booshoo,

I am full blood Ojibwe. I am Sturgeon Clan from Obukamikang.

I enjoy music and all the arts. My parents are musicians and they also made most things that we needed with their own hands. So, I have always seen the practical side of the “arts”.

I am doing what has been passed to me by all my elders that raised me and shared with me ways of being Anishinaabe. I am grateful for this way of life and try to express that with my arts.

I paint original stories/legends and experiences with acrylic on stretched canvas. I make prints and art cards of my works. I also make traditional jewelry, bead, quill, as well as make drums and regalia.
