Tracey George-Heese comes from Land of Living Skies (Saskatchewan), Kakisewew, known as Ochapowace First Nation. As an artist and tailor, Tracey has had the privilege to create for regular people from the rodeo to powwow dancers, celebrities and even for Royalty.

Tracey’s fashion business has given her the ability to connect with her cultural roots and help others express their beliefs. Tracey’s titles include established Garment Designer, Cultural Arts facilitator, and most importantly a full time Mother while also raising 4 grandchildren.

Tracey has participated, lead, and volunteered on a number of projects including:

-Local Regina Art Display "Balfour Ribbon Campaign" TRC-Calls to Action Residential Schools

-"Ribbon Promise" art installation

-National Art Exhibit "Walking With Our Sisters" Commemoration in honor of Murdered and Missing Women in Canada

-"A Proud Generation"

-Volunteer Role Model Calendar, a commemoration of Inuit, Métis and First Nation Youth and their accomplishments, published for 5 consecutive years

Tracey also works with Buffalo People Arts Institute, teaching land based cultural tanning and buffalo hide preservation techniques, as well as beading workshops: earring, red dress pins, orange shirt pins.
